Cañado Cards Tied for 11th Finish at Toyota Junior Golf World Cup – Duke University

JAPAN – Following 54 holes of action at the 2024 Toyota Junior Golf World Cup, Duke women’s golf rising freshman Anna Cañado Espinal turned in a tied for 11th placement for her home country of Spain.  The event was contested at the Chukyo Golf Club Ishino Course in Japan. 
 
Cañado carded rounds of 70, 75 and 70 over the three days of action and finished with a 1-under-par, 215.  Her nine birdies ranked 13th overall, while her 38 pars were tied for fourth among the field. 
 
As a team, Spain finished fifth with a 4-under-par, 428.  The United States won the title with a 27-under, 405.  Jasmine Koo of the U.S. took home the team title with a 16-under, 200.   
 
The tournament was originally scheduled to be 72 holes, but the first round was rained out.  Prior to the event starting, Cañado also won the long drive contest.
