Joshua Bode Named ASC Men’s Tennis Distinguished Scholar Athlete of the Year. – Concordia University Texas Athletics

DALLAS, Texas – Concordia Texas men’s tennis senior Joshua Bode has been named the ASC Men’s Tennis Distinguished Scholar Athlete of the Year. Each year, the ASC recognizes one athlete from each varsity sport as the recipient of the award. Bode is the second straight Tornado to win the award for men’s tennis as Esteban Arredondo earned the honor a year ago.

The Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Teams recognize student-athletes who achieve a high level of academic achievement (a 3.20 grade-point average or better) while competing as a starter or important reserve on their team. From that list – limited to one nominee per school in each ASC championship sport – the sports information directors from the 10 ASC member institutions and four affiliate members select a Distinguished Scholar-Athlete in each sport.

For the second consecutive year, Bode was selected to compete in the NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles National Tournament where he placed as a quarterfinalist. Finishing this season ranked 21st in the nation, he capped off the 2024 spring season with a 20-3 singles record. He was also an ITA Cup quarterfinalist last fall, and helped the Tornados win their second-straight American Southwest Conference Tournament championship during his ITA All-American campaign.
