Spring/Summer 2024 Gown Guide

September is better known as “fashion month” for its high-profile Fashion Weeks across cities like New York, London, Milan and Paris. These runway hotspots are famously coined the “Big Four” by industry insiders. Upping the ante even more is Haute Couture Week in January. The top designers from each market showcase collections for the following season, and now we are seeing those Spring/Summer 2024 garments strut off the runways and into the real world. With weddings, galas and fundraisers filling up our calendars, we have gowns on the mind. We did a deep dive into thousands of dresses to round up this year’s top trends, and they are fabulous!

Citrine Swatches

Yellow was anything but mellow for this season with avant-garde appliqué, dramatic draping and sultry sheers. Anywhere from soft buttery tones at Bibhu Mohapatra and Badgley Mischka to electric lemons at Sachin & Babi, there is a shade for every skin tone. Yellow is known to invoke happiness, so your presence will be sure to elevate the mood of every event. As stylists, we are firm believers in a monochromatic moment, so do not be afraid to pair with a yellow heel, clutch and earring.

Caped Crusaders

We are big fans of sartorial drama, and caped looks are just the answer for a truly wow moment. This trend was on almost every major runway from Elie Saab’s Haute Couture in Paris to Nardos and Badgley Mischka ready-to-wear in New York City. Designers did not stop the drama with the just silhouette, they added feathers, florals and fun fabrics like tulle. We hope to see a plethora of caped crusaders on the steps of Swan Ball this Summer.

Hooded Heroines

For those ready to make the ultimate statement, might we suggest an almost impossibly alluring hooded gown. Long gone are the days of hoods only being on sweatshirts! This bold look will surely turn heads. Naeem Khan is all in on this fashion-forward style for glamorous occasions, and he executed it exquisitely. Giuseppe Di Morabito followed suit with a pink floor length satin style gown that is sophisticated and sleek for Spring.
