Malosky Jr. was a four-year letterman, part of three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) championship squads (1985, 1986, 1987) and two NSIC All-Conference teams (1986, 1987). During his career, Malosky Jr. completed 212 passes in 455 attempts for 2,866 yards and 41 touchdowns. His 2,866 yards still ranks seventh on the Bulldogs’ all-time passing chart. Malosky Jr. later signed a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys.

Malosky Jr. first joined UMD’s coaching staff in 1990 as a student assistant, after earning a bachelor of applied arts in physical education. From 1993-1999 he would serve as the Bulldogs’ offensive coordinator, then take over as an interim co-head coach in 1999 leading UMD to a 4-7 season. He went on to serve as a graduate assistant tight ends coach at Rice University, and was an assistant coach at the University of South Dakota.
