2025 NBA title odds: Celtics open as favorites to repeat; Nuggets, Mavs right behind

The Boston Celtics won the 2024 NBA title and are early favorites to repeat next year. They have +310 odds to win the 2025 championship, per BetMGM.

The odds went up Monday night after the Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks 106-88 at TD Garden. The Mavericks opened third in the 2025 title odds at +950 to win next year’s title.

Wedged between this year’s NBA Finals teams in the opening title odds are the Denver Nuggets, with +750 odds to repeat their 2023 win in 2025. Last year, the Nuggets opened as favorites to repeat at +500 odds. Their downfall in the conference semifinals at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves was one of the major storylines of this year’s postseason.

Last year, in the opening odds for this finals, the Celtics opened at +550, followed by the Milwaukee Bucks (+600), who went out in the first round of the playoffs against the Indiana Pacers.

This year, the Celtics are followed by the Nuggets (+750), Mavericks (+950), Oklahoma City Thunder (+950), Bucks (+1000) and Timberwolves (+1000) in the odds.

What about the long shots? The longest odds go to the Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets and Brooklyn Nets, all at +50000 odds. Our hearts go out to you.

You can bet on the state of the winning team (top choices are “any other state” at -300, California at +575, Texas at +750), division of the winning team (the Celtics’ — Atlantic — is the favorite at +200), and conference of the winning team (+105 East, -125 West).
