Health Canada Urging Caution When Purchasing Second Hand Items

Whether it be sifting through items at a yard sale or scrolling through listings online, Health Canada is encouraging vigilance when buying products second hand.

Outdoor flea markets and things of that nature tend to pop up more frequently as the weather warms.

As Consumer Product Safety Officer Tanya Pickett explains, it is important to remember that second-hand items may not meet current safety standards or regulations.

She says to check the item and make sure it is in good working order with no broken parts. Some products, such as cribs and play pens, require permanent labelling, so make sure that is there too.
