Ever since the news of USA cricketer Saurabh Netravalkar working from hotel post cricket matches broke, a lot is being said about work-life balance and work culture at Oracle, the company he works for.
Netravalkar garnered attention by taking four wickets across three matches, notably dismissing prominent Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
In a fresh update, the cricketer who is also a software engineer thanked his employer Oracle for extending support to him so that he could pursue his passion – cricket!
The 32-year-old, who hails from Mumbai and was raised there, was replying to a tech giant’s post celebrating his historic achievement in the T20 World Cup.

Oracle had tweeted a congratulatory message for its employee and USA Cricketer Saurabh Netravalkar

USA cricket making history in T20 World Cup,” Oracle had tweeted, to which the cricketer responded – “Thank you so much Oracle for your support in enabling me to pursue my passion alongside my tech career!”
His sister’s statement about Netravalkar working after matches garnered mixed reactions from the internet.
Nidhi, speaking to News18, offered insights into how Netravalkar effectively balances his demanding career with his sports commitments. She highlighted the crucial support system around him throughout his career and emphasized his dedication to giving his all, both on and off the cricket field.
“He’s been very fortunate to have people who have always supported him throughout his career. He knows that when he’s not playing cricket, he has to give 100 percent to the job. So right now, when he’s working, he carries his laptop everywhere. And he has the freedom to work from anywhere.”
Nidhi also pointed out that Netravalkar’s exposure to Mumbai’s hustle culture has significantly influenced his strong work ethic, noting his diligence in carrying his laptop everywhere and being able to work from any location, even during cricket tours to India.
“This is something which is like that ‘Mumbaikarness’ in him, which is always the whole hustle culture in us. Even when he comes to India, he brings his laptop, he’s working… He is pretty dedicated like that.”
