McPherson & Richmond win Ladies title in Tennis Doubles Championship – Stabroek News

The combination of Nkechi McPherson and Kizzy Richmond captured the Ladies Doubles accolade after defeating the team of Amanda Jaisingh and Justine Kennedy 2-0 when the Guyana Tennis Association Doubles Championship continued at the National Racquet Centre on Camp Street and Woolford Avenue.

The recently formed team secured the early advantage as they prevailed 6/1 in the first set. They then clinched the title as they triumphed in the second set 6/3.

Meanwhile, defending champions of the Men’s Open Doubles section, the pair of Leyland Leacock and Gavin Lewis dispatched former winners Sandeep Chand and Andre Lopes 6/3, 6/1.
