Mighty Coconut releases a major update for Walkabout Mini Golf with new game modes and an improved version of the Cherry Blossom course.
FACTS
The studio behind Walkabout Mini Golf has released a major update. According to Mighty Coconut, they have been working on revising the game’s core code for over a year. The result is new game modes and an expanded version of the Cherry Blossom course.
The revised version offers a number of improvements and enhancements. These include updates to lighting, environments, creatures, and interactive elements. Selected instruments now have haptic feedback and audio support. Fox Hunt hints have also been updated to reflect the new environment.
The update also introduces several new game modes available on all courses:
- Walkabout Match Mode: In this mode, a point is awarded for the lowest score on a hole. In the event of a tie, multiple players can receive points. The winner is the player with the most points at the end of the match. Players who intentionally leave a match cannot re-enter.
- Race mode: In this mode, all participants play at the same time and try to complete the course as quickly as possible. It is not possible to re-enter at a later stage.
- Custom mode: This is a completely customizable game mode. There are options for the different holes, the number of players and the order of play.
CONTEXT
Walkabout Mini Golf continues to grow
The recently released Venice update is not the first and certainly not the last add-on for Walkabout Mini Golf. Developer Mighty Coconut regularly releases new DLC every few weeks, adding new environments to the game.
Most recently, Walkabout Mini Golf: Venice took players to the picturesque lagoon city of Venice. The course takes players through idyllic canals, historic shops and sun-drenched squares. Special highlights include a gondola ride and exploring the many winding alleys, fountains, shops, and waterways.
Other popular add-ons include Walkabout Mini Golf: Meow Wolf, Around the World in 80 Days, which includes a trip to the Eiffel Tower, and the icy Ice Lair. The latter is part of the “Evil Lairs” series, which are reminiscent of the headquarters of villains in spy movies.
Walkabout Mini Golf VR is available for Quest 3, Quest 2, Quest Pro, PC-VR, PSVR 2 and Pico 4. Thanks to the successful multiplayer mode, it’s perfect for a relaxing round of virtual mini golf with friends and acquaintances while chatting about life.
