Dereck Lively II, per Stathead, is the fifth rookie ever to grab more than five offensive rebounds in an NBA Finals game.

Lively’s seven puts him behind only Suns forward Richard Dumas (1993) and Sonics center Jack Sikma (1973), each of whom grabbed eight in a game once.

Lakers forward Kurt Rambis (1982) grabbed six once, as did Suns big man Alvan Adams (1976).

With no Kristaps Porziņģis and the Mavericks pulling Boston’s long big man, Al Horford, out of the paint with pick-and-rolls, the Celtics were left with guards trying to keep Lively off the boards. They failed miserably, even when they attempted to block out the 7-1 rookie. Lively was too big, too quick and too energetic to be contained on this night.
