Here’s how Flint teens can apply for -per-hour summer jobs in the city

FLINT, MI – Looking for a part-time job for your teenager this summer?

The City of Flint will soon accept applications for 60 eligible part-time, 5-week jobs for Flint youth ages 15-19 at various organizations in the city.

Each position will pay $11 per hour for 29 hours each week.

Teens will be placed at one of the following six organizations in the summer job program: North Flint Neighborhood Action Council, Latinx Technology and Community Center, The Good Church, Cathedral of Faith, Faith Foundation Resources and the New McCree Theatre.

Applications can be submitted from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18 at the City of Flint Service Center, located at 4805 Clio Road.

“Summer jobs are a great way for young people to learn about the world of work and gain experience,” Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley said. “They provide positive ways for youth to participate in their communities during the summer, when they might otherwise be lightly supervised while parents are working.”

The summer job program was supported by a $200,000 allocation of American Rescue Plan Act funds proposed by Neeley and approved by city council members.
