Waves Set to Host 2025 ITA Kickoff Weekend – Pepperdine University Athletics

MALIBU, Calif. — The Pepperdine women’s tennis team will host Florida State, Georgia Tech and Arizona for the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Kickoff Weekend, which will take place at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center on Jan. 24-27, 2025.

As the top seed in the Malibu Regional, Pepperdine will play 4-seed Arizona in the first round, followed by either 2-seed FSU or 3-seed Georgia Tech. Admission to Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center is free to the public, and all matches will be livestreamed via PlaySight.

Debuting a new tournament format next season, the ITA Kickoff’s 56 teams will compete at 14 host sites for the chance to make the final site of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, which will be jointly held at Northwestern and the University of Illinois in Feb. 2025. Since Pepperdine was one of the top 14 teams in the final ITA team rankings, the team will host the ITA Kickoff Weekend at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center for the ninth consecutive year.

All three visiting teams in the Malibu Regional made the NCAA Tournament last season. Both Florida State and Georgia Tech reached the second round before falling to Georgia and Texas, respectively, whereas Arizona fell in the first round to Oklahoma.

Pepperdine is coming off its second NCAA semifinal appearance in program history. The Waves have won the last 12 West Coast Conference regular-season titles, the last 10 WCC Tournament Championships and are expected to bring back two members of last year’s 21-7 campaign. A full 2024-25 schedule will be released at a later date.
