3 Things We Still Don’t Know About EA College Football 25

We learned a decent amount about College Football 25 in late May and early June.

I had the opportunity to play a handful of play-now games, and the experience left me very excited about the July 19 release.

While I’ve seen and experienced more than enough to know that College Football 25 will be a strong sports title, there are still a few unanswered questions about the game.

How Will Ultimate Team Be Used in College Football 25?

The details about Ultimate Team were planned to be revealed in College Football 25, but things shifted, and we instead received what felt like an abridged version of the unveiling.

We know Ultimate Team in College Football 25 will include current and former college players, but beyond that, only a little else is clear.

It seems safe to assume users can outfit their Ultimate Team in the uniforms of existing schools. You’ll likely be able to unlock more uniforms. We expect to see pack openings and challenges power the experience.

Everything about this brand of Ultimate Team will be scrutinized. Perhaps that’s why EA has been tight-lipped with the details. Stay tuned.

What Are the True Limitations of the Player Editing Suite?

We learned users will not have complete control over rosters as they did with the NCAA Football series. Users can edit some aspects of players, but EA didn’t share any details.

This functionality and its details are important to me and others who love dynasty mode.

Many want to know how much they can change about the rosters, and that will determine how much ground the Team Builder website needs to cover to close the customization gap.

Will We See Player Ratings Updates Through the Year?

It’s great to see real players in the game for the first time. From my experience with College Football 25, it makes everything about the game feel different.

With real players included, will we see player ratings updates and roster changes because of real-life injuries and suspensions?

As we move the college sports games closer to the level of the ones based on professional leagues, the titles will be expected to stay in step with the real-life product.

I don’t envy the team responsible for handling player ratings updates for 134 FBS schools, but I would enjoy the fruits of their labor and delight in the debates that the changes often create.

Look for more definitive information on the game as we move closer to the release date.
