Jillian Miller Hired as Women’s Basketball Assistant – Thomas More University

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY)- Thomas More University Vice President and Director of Athletics Terry Connor and head women’s basketball Coach Brian Neal, have announced the hiring of assistant coach Jillian Miller on Wednesday (June 12).

Jillian is a well-rounded, talented coach,” said Coach Neal.  “After spending the last three seasons at an outstanding program like Ave Maria, she knows what it takes to be successful.  She has a genuineness that will help her develop strong relationships with our players and high-level recruits.”

Miller comes to Crestview Hills after being at NAIA Ave Maria University for the last three seasons. She helped the Gyrenes advance to the final four of The Sun Conference Tournament in her first two seasons and the finals last season, with players earning All-Sun Conference honors from all three teams.

For her efforts as Ave Maria’s top assistant during the 2021-22 season, Miller was named a finalist for national Assistant Coach of the Year at the NAIA level by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. She was also named to the 2024 WBCA 30-under-30 list.

Prior to Ave Maria, Miller was an assistant coach for the girl’s basketball team at Mayfield High School in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. During her first season on the bench, Mayfield had their best record in a decade, going 18-6 with a 10-4 record in league play. Her duties at Mayfield included being the assistant varsity coach and head coach of the junior varsity program.

Before her coaching days, Miller played two seasons of college basketball at John Carroll University, an NCAA Division III program in Ohio. Miller was a two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference recipient and earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science.

Miller is certified as a personal trainer and nutrition coach through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She is from Willoughby, Ohio and currently resides in Northern Kentucky.
