Countdown To WWE NXT Battleground Kickoff Pre-Show (6/9/2024):

The Countdown To WWE NXT Battleground Kickoff Pre-Show opens up with Megan Morant welcoming us. She then introduces her kickoff pre-show panel partner Sam Roberts.

We then see the arrivals of WWE NXT Women’s Champion “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez and her challenger TNA Knockouts World Champion “The Juggernaut” Jordynne Grace at the airport in Las Vegas, Nevada. Morant and Roberts then runs through the advertised WWE NXT Battleground card and we get a hype video package for the advertised WWE NXT Underground Match.

We then see the arrivals of Shayna Baszler and Lola Vice to the UFC Apex. The panel then gives their thoughts and predictions for the WWE NXT Underground Match.

We then get a replay of The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) brawling with WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom in front of an NXT Merchandise truck this past Tuesday on NXT. We then see Sarah Schreiber interview Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson about the attack. Anderson says their attack on Axiom and Frazer was too sweet. Anderson then says they saw Nathan and Axiom among the NXT Universe and there was nowhere for them to run or hide. Anderson then says they paid them a brief visit. Gallows then says they wanted to show what was in store at NXT Battleground. Anderson then says they won’t bother them again once they win the titles. We then get more hype for the match and Gallows and Anderson did a too sweet. Anderson then tells Sarah that she wasn’t cool enough to join in. The panel then gives their thoughts and predictions on the WWE NXT Tag Team Title Match.

We then take a look at the participants in the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship Ladder Match and what they were doing ahead of tonight’s matchup. We also get a more in-depth look at Sol Ruca and Jaida Parker, where they recapped their day leading up to NXT Battleground. Morant and Roberts then gives their thoughts on the ladder match.

We then see the arrival of tonight’s host Sexyy Red at the UFC Apex.

We then get a hype video package for the advertised WWE NXT Women’s Championship Match. Morant and Roberts then gives their thoughts and predictions on the WWE NXT Women’s Title Match and we get a more in-depth look at Michin and Lash Legend ahead of tonight’s ladder match, where they recapped their day leading up to NXT Battleground.

WWE NXT North American Champion Oba Femi then cuts a promo ahead of the WWE NXT North American Championship Triple Threat Match tonight. Femi says Gallus did what no one else has been able to do and that is to beat him down. Femi then says he is impressed with what they did. Femi then says tonight that won’t be happening again. Femi then says Wes Lee is the greatest WWE NXT North American Champion, but that was because Lee was the champion before him. Femi then says he will surpass Lee. Femi then says tonight this is his house and in this city the house always wins. Morant and Roberts then gives their thoughts on the WWE NXT North American Championship Triple Threat Match.

We then get a more in-depth look at Kelani Jordan and Fallon Henley ahead of tonight’s ladder match, where they recapped their day leading up to NXT Battleground. Morant and Roberts then gives their thoughts and predictions.

WWE NXT General Manager Ava then joins Megan Morant and Sam Roberts. Ava is asked about tonight’s show and she says there is a lot on her plate now and history will be made. Ava is then asked about the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship Ladder Match and she talks about how the women are the backbone of NXT and everyone who participated in the combine did their best. Ava then says the women in this match are incredible athletes and she is looking forward to seeing who wins. Ava is then asked about the WWE NXT Underground Match and she says they are both ready for this match and they are both passionate about this match. Ava then says she is excited to see them showcase their talents. Ava is then asked about Williams and Page and how she was hesitant to make this match. Ava says Ethan was a tough hire and he had a lot of demands. Ava then says he is a phenomenal athlete and she is looking forward to this match. Ava is then asked how would things be with Ethan as the World Champion. Ava then says anything can happen tonight.

We then get a hype video package on the WWE NXT Championship Match.

We then see what happened after NXT went off the air last Tuesday when Oro Mensah attacked “All Ego” Ethan Page. We also see Ethan Page being attacked by Oro Mensah at his hotel in Las Vegas.

Megan Morant and Sam Roberts then gives their thoughts on the WWE NXT Championship Match. The panel then runs through the NXT Battleground card once more and the Countdown To WWE NXT Battleground Kickoff Pre-Show comes to a close.

WWE NXT Battleground Results (6/9/2024):

WWE NXT Battleground opens up with Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T welcoming us. We then head to the UFC Apex ring and it was similar to a darkened room that looked like it was slightly wider than the Performance Center. NXT Battleground host Sexyy Red then welcomes the crowd to NXT Battleground. Sexyy Red then shakes her ass up and down while also humping the center of the ring. We then get the NXT Battleground intro video.

We then get the entrances of the first match of the night, which is the 6-Woman WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship Ladder Match.

The match starts off with Legend hitting a series of backbreakers on Jordan. Michin then sends Parker flying off the commentary desk after a gut shot with a ladder. Ruca and Jordan then dropkick a ladder into Henley. Jordan then hits a corkscrew splash outside the ring. Ruca then does a moonsault off the ring post. Henley then boots Ruca in the face. Legend then lays out most of the field with ladder shots. Jordan then gets trapped on a ladder draped across the second rope. Henley then tries to climb, but gets taken out by Ruca. Parker then hits a diving hip attack on Jordan while she’s on the ladder.

After a series of reversals, Legend sends Michin into a ladder. Michin then pulls Legend off a ladder. Legend then puts Michin in a sleeper hold. Henley then jumps on Legend’s back and puts her in a sleeper hold. Jordan then jumps on Henley’s back and we now have a 4-Way sleeper. Ruca then hits Parker with a facebuster on a ladder. Ruca then does the same to Henley. Parker then cuts off Henley as she tries to climb the ladder. Everyone then fights over who will climb the ladder. Legend and Ruca then fight on top of a ladder. Each woman then goes for a superplex, but neither can get the advantage. Ruca then goes for a sunset bomb, but Legend holds on. All the other women then pulls Legend off the ladder and press slams her over the top onto another ladder. Ruca then hits Parker with a Sol Snatcher. Ruca then leaps off the ladder and hits the Sol Snatcher on Henley. Jordan then nails Michin with a split-legged moonsault on a ladder. Jordan then climbs the ladder and pulls down the title for the win.

We then get a video of Oro Mensah attacking “All Ego” Ethan Page as he arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada yesterday.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is the WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Match.

WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Super Sonic Duo (Nathan Frazer and Axiom) (c) vs. The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson)

The match starts off with Axiom and Anderson. Anderson hits a chop on Axiom, but Axiom nails him with a dropkick and tags in Frazer. Axiom then locks in an Octopus on Anderson and Frazer runs the ropes to gain some momentum to hit a single leg dropkick. Axiom then tags in and double teams Anderson with Frazer. Frazer then tags back in and hits a chop on Anderson in the corner, then sends Anderson crashing into the middle turnbuckle and tags in Axiom. Axiom then hits a crossbody off the top rope, but Anderson trips him and tags in Gallows. Gallows then delivers some stomps on Axiom, then sends his arm bouncing off the mat and hits him with a Fallaway Slam. Gallows then hits the Hammer and Anvil Elbows on Axiom and locks in an arm submission before he delivers a right hand on him and tags in Anderson. Gallows then holds Axiom in place as Anderson hits a strike on him, but Axiom responds with a chop on Anderson. Anderson then nails Axiom with a chop of his own and delivers a few right hands on him, then tags Gallows back in.

Gallows then locks in an arm submission on Axiom, but Axiom once again escapes. Gallows then hits an open palm strike on Axiom, but Axiom responds with a DDT. Anderson then tags in and prevents Axiom from making the tag out. Axiom then manages to tag in Frazer. Frazer then hits a dropkick off the top rope on Anderson, then nails him with a Sling Blade before he hits a Shooting Star Press and climbs to the top. Frazer then looks to fly, but Anderson moves out of the way and hits a cutter on Frazer. Gallows then tags in and hits a running splash on Frazer in the corner, then nails Frazer with Anderson. Gallows then follows it up with a sit-out powerbomb and goes for a pin, but Axiom breaks the fall.

Anderson then sends Axiom out of the ring and tags back in, but Frazer nails him with a dropkick and tags in Axiom. Anderson then hits a spinebuster on Axiom, then tags in Gallows. Gallows and Anderson then look to hit the Magic Killer on Axiom, but Axiom escapes and locks in a Sleeper hold on Gallows as Anderson brawls with Frazer. Anderson then tags in and double teams Axiom with Gallows. Anderson then pins Axiom, but Frazer breaks the fall. Frazer then hits an enzuigiri on Gallows before Axiom rolls up Axiom. Axiom then kicks out and Gallows hits a chokeslam on Frazer on top of the apron. Axiom then teeters on the top rope, but Anderson gets him up on his shoulders and hits him with a cutter. Anderson then goes for a pin, but Axiom kicks out. Axiom and Anderson then teeter on the top rope, but Anderson knocks Axiom off the top. Axiom then hits an enzuigiri on Anderson, then clotheslines Gallows out of the ring with Frazer. Frazer then tags in and Axiom hits a Spanish Fly on Anderson. Frazer then hits a Phoenix Splash on Anderson for the win.

Vic Joseph then plugs Summerslam ticket sales as the show will be taking place in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Vic also noted that then 2026 Summerslam will be in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Vic then teased that we will eventually hear the announcement for 2025 Summerslam location.

The arrivals of WWE NXT Women’s Champion “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez and TNA Knockouts World Champion “The Juggernaut” Jordynne Grace at he UFC Apex were then shown.

The ring ropes were then removed and the ring was surrounded by developmental wrestlers to set up for the NXT Underground Match. We then get a hype video package on the NXT Underground Match and the entrances of the next match.

WWE NXT Underground Match: Shayna Baszler vs. Lola Vice

The match starts off with Baszler taking Vice down and hitting a flurry of punches. Vice then rolls out of the ring. Baszler then beats Vice outside the ring. Baszler then hits Vice with the German suplex. Baszler then puts Vice in an ankle lock. Vice then sends Baszler into the ring post to break the hold. Vice then puts Baszler in a rear naked choke. Baszler then dives out of the ring with Vice on her back to break the hold. Vice then fights her way out of a piledriver on the announce table attempt by Baszler. Baszler then goes for a running knee strike, but Vice moves out of the way. Baszler’s knee then slams into the table with a sickening thud. Vice then works over Baszler’s injured knee. Baszler then kicks her way out of the hold. Vice then kicks Baszler in the knee and ground and pounds Baszler. Vice then hits a straight right that drops Baszler. The referee then checks on Baszler. Vice then puts Baszler into another rear naked choke. Baszler then escapes and hits a head kick on Vice and Vice goes down. Baszler then delivers some rights and lefts on Vice. Baszler then puts Vice in the Kirifuda Clutch. Vice then bends Baszler’s leg to break the hold. Baszler then misses a running knee. Vice then hits a spinning back fist. Baszler then heads out of the ring and she is limping. Baszler then beats up the security guards and puts Vice in a triangle. Vice then fights out of it and kicks Baszler into the ring steps. Vice then hits another spinning back fist on Baszler. Vice then hits the hammer fist on Baszler and the referee stops the match.

After the match, Vice celebrates her win by dancing.

We then get an Eddy Thorpe return video vignette, where he’s talking about being reborn. The video then ends with it being revealed that he will return this Tuesday.

We then head to the back, where Sexyy Red congratulates Kelani Jordan for winning the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship. Vic Joseph then plugs Sexyy Red’s upcoming concert tour. We then get an ad for NXT Heatwave in Toronto, Canada taking place the Sunday of Money in the Bank weekend.

We then get the hype video package and the entrances of the next match, which is the WWE NXT North American Championship Triple Threat Match.

WWE NXT North American Championship Triple Threat Match: Oba Femi (c) vs. Wes Lee vs. Gallus’ Joe Coffey

The match starts off with Lee and Coffey double teaming Femi and sending him out of the ring. Lee then hits a flurry of offense on Coffey. Femi then gets to his feet and Lee takes Femi down with a dive. Lee then hits the Final Flash on Coffey and Femi breaks up the pin. Femi then suplexes Coffey and Lee at the same time. Lee then gets to his feet and Femi tosses him into Coffey. Femi then lifts Lee up for a suplex and as Femi has Lee in the air, Coffey hits a few punches on Femi. Femi then drops Lee and Coffey hits a dropkick that sends Femi into the corner. Lee then goes up top and Femi press slams Lee off the top, sending him into a crossbody position on Coffey. Coffey then goes for his running headbutt outside the ring, but Femi Blocks it and powerbombs Coffey on the apron. Lee then goes for a dive, but Femi catches Lee and powerbombs him. Lee then hits the Kardiac Kick on Femi and Coffey breaks up the pin.

Femi then works over Joe Coffey on the outside of the ring. Wolfgang and Mark Coffey then make their way down to the ring and attack Femi. Joe Coffey then hits a double jump moonsault on Lee followed by his running headbutt, but Lee kicks out. Femi then gets to his feet and destroys Wolfgang and Mark Coffey. Femi then gets back in the ring and Lee sends Femi back to the outside and hits a couple of double knees on Joe. Lee then follows it up with the Kardiak Kick on Joe and goes for a pin, but Mark pulls the referee out of the ring. The referee then argues with Mark and Wolfgang on the outside and Lee flies to land on them both. Lee then sends Joe crashing into the mat before he looks to fly off the top with a couple of double knees. Femi then catches him and puts him down, then hits a powerbomb on Joe for the win.

We then get a video vignette of a darker Wendy Choo returning soon. The video said she is returning this Tuesday.

Vic Joseph then hyped up the upcoming WWE Fanatics Fest event.

We then get a hype video package and the entrances of the next match, which is the WWE NXT Women’s Championship Match.

WWE NXT Women’s Championship Match: “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez (c) vs. TNA Knockouts World Champion “The Juggernaut” Jordynne Grace

The match starts off with Grace sending Perez crashing into the mat. Perez then steps on Grace’s foot and hits her with a strike before Perez looks to hit a boot on Grace. Grace then intercepts it and Perez slaps her to escape. Grace then hits a couple of shoulder tackles on Perez and a sliced bread, then kips up and looks to hit a powerbomb. Perez then escapes and hits a Hip Attack on Grace in the corner, but Grace climbs to the middle rope. Perez then tries to pull her down, but Grace hangs on. Perez then manages to pull Grace down and delivers a few right hands on her, then hits a knee on her arm and wears her other arm down with a submission. Perez then wrenches back on it and hits a Side Russian Leg Sweep on Grace. Perez then stomps on Grace’s wrist, but Grace hits a kick to Perez. Perez then looks to hit a couple of double knees on Grace’s arm, then hits a chop block on her knee and a dropkick on her shoulder.

Perez then slaps Grace and locks in an Octopus, but Grace powers up to her feet. Perez then looks to roll up Grace, but Grace blocks her. Perez then looks to hit a crossbody off the ropes, but Grace catches her and hits her with a slam. Grace then looks to hit a Vader Bomb, but Perez moves out of the way. Both women then teeter on the middle rope before Grace gets Perez up on her shoulders. Perez then counters into a slam and both she and Grace are sent crashing into the mat. Grace then slaps Perez, but Perez hits a right hand on Grace’s spine. Grace then sends Perez crashing into the mat, but Perez delivers some elbows on Grace. Grace then hits Perez with a clothesline, then follows it up a spinning back fist and a spinebuster. Grace then looks to hit a Muscle Buster, but Perez sends Grace crashing into the mat with a DDT and follows it up with a hurricanrana. Grace then delivers some stomps on Perez, but Perez locks in an arm submission on Grace. Grace then powers up to her feet and Perez climbs to the top. Grace then gets her up on her shoulders and hits her with a Muscle Buster.

Perez then sends Grace crashing into the ring apron face first and hits her with a tope suicida on the outside. Perez then gets Grace back in the ring and takes her down, then locks in a crossface. Perez then hits a back elbow on Grace, then sets up for the Pop Rox. Grace then blocks her and hits her with a Gory Bomb as Tatum Paxley appears at ringside and takes note of Perez’s TNA Knockout’s Championship. Paxley then grabs it, but Ash By Elegance appears on the ramp and grabs it. Ash and Paxley then argue over the title, but Grace blasts both Paxley and Ash with her Knockouts Championship on the outside. Grace then gets back in the ring and hits a Death Valley Driver on Perez, but Perez responds with Pop Rox for the win.

Vic Joseph then hypes up the free to attend Clash at the Castle Kickoff Event next week.

Sarah Schreiber then interviews Sexyy Red, who hypes up her upcoming album and concert tour. Lola Vice then shows up to say hi to Red. Sexyy Red and Lola Vice then celebrate by shaking they asses up and down. Red then insists that Sarah join in on the booty cheek clappin.

Wes Lee was then about to be interviewed in the hallway, but he was jumped and beat down by all three Gallus Members. Steve Corino and other coaches then ran out to drag Gallus to the back. A tweet was then shown of Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes praising NXT Battleground.

The lineup for Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT was then announced.

We then get a video package and the entrances for the main event, which is the WWE NXT Championship Match.

WWE NXT Championship Match: Trick Williams (c) vs. “All Ego” Ethan Page

The match starts off with Page wasting no time in going after Williams. Page delivers some right hands on Williams, but Williams responds with several right hands of his own on Page. Williams then hits a bodyslam on Page, then delivers some forearms on him and a cutter. Williams then looks to hit a kick on Page, but Page low bridges Williams out of the ring and sends Williams crashing into the ring steps shoulder first. Page then clears the announce desk, then delivers some right hands on Williams. Page then delivers some stomps on him in the corner, but Williams responds with a jawbreaker on Page using the top rope. Page then hits a hanging backbreaker on Williams and goes for a pin, but Williams kicks out. Page then hits a back suplex on Williams and goes for another pin, but Williams kicks out. Page then sends Williams crashing into the mat and pins him once again, but Williams kicks out.

Page then delivers some shoulders on Williams’ midsection, then sits him on the top turnbuckle and pulls him down. Page then sends Williams crashing into the mat with a slam and a couple of double ax handles to his spine. Williams then sends Page crashing into the mat with a DDT, then follows it up with a flapjack and looks to hit a roundhouse kick. Page then rolls out of the ring and Williams joins him. Page then sends Williams crashing into the ring apron spine first, but Williams sends Page over the barricade and flies over it to level him. Williams then gets Page back inside the ring and hits him with a kick. Williams then climbs to the top, but Page trips him and goes for a pin. Williams then kicks out and exchanges forearms with Page before Page hits a kick on Williams’s head. Williams then hits a uranage on Page and both men end up back on the outside. Williams then gets Page up on the ring steps next to the announce desk, but Page gets Williams up on his shoulders and hits a powerslam on Williams through the announce desk. Page then gets Williams back inside the ring and hits him with the Ego’s Edge. Page then goes for a pin, but Williams kicks out. Page then gets in the referee’s face and delivers a flurry of right hands on Williams in the corner. Williams then hits Page with the Trick Shot Knee for the win.

After the match, Sexyy Red joins Trick Williams in the ring to celebrate him retaining the WWE NXT Championship. Williams then poses with the title with “All Ego” Ethan Page seething in the corner as the show comes to a close.
