As the golf world’s attention turns to Pinehurst, North Carolina, there will be 12 LIV Golf players in the field for the USGA’s flagship event.
The 2024 U.S. Open is set to begin Thursday at Pinehurst No. 2, the fourth time the competition has been held at the course. The last time it was there in 2014, LIV Golf’s Martin Kaymer led wire-to-wire to capture the title. He’s back in the field this week, along with two-time U.S. Open winner Brooks Koepka. Other past champions in the field include Dustin Johnson (2016), Bryson DeChambeau (2020) and Jon Rahm (2021).
On the flip side, two golfers (Eugenio Lopez Chacarra, David Puig) are making their U.S. Open debuts.
