College football’s 10 longest active home winning streaks entering 2024 season
There’s nothing like home-field advantage in college football, especially when you have the roster talent and coaching prowess to back extra help from the fans. A few of the 2024 season’s expected College Football Playoff hopefuls enter the new campaign on lengthy home winning streaks, many of which reside in the expanded SEC and Big Ten.
The longest home winning streak we’ve seen in recent years across the top 25 came at Clemson, which won 40 straight at Memorial Stadium before seeing the feat snapped in a rivalry game. Alabama entered last season with 20-straight wins in Tuscaloosa under then-coach Nick Saban before Texas waltzed into Bryant-Denny Stadium and left with a victory.
Winning every game at home and doing it several years in a row takes a little bit of everything — execution, poise, even favorable schedules to an extent. Hostile crowds definitely help when the hype meter is pushed to the extreme.
