Man, woman assaulted during vehicle sale meet-up in NW Calgary

Police are investigating an assault and an attempted vehicle theft during an online sale meet-up in Calgary’s northwest last week.

Calgary police say officers were called to a home in Carrington around 9 p.m. Thursday for reports of an attempted vehicle theft and assault.

It is alleged that four suspects went to the home after responding to an online ad listing a Mercedes Benz C350 for sale. The suspects allegedly attempted to steal the vehicle from the home’s driveway and assault a man and woman who were trying to sell it.

Investigators are still looking for the suspects involved.

CPS are reminding residents to exercise caution when trying to buy or sell things online.

Anyone with information about the incident is being urged to contact police.
