Newsboy’s Daily Double plus tips on every race from Tuesday’s four meetings

Newsboy fancies his nap, Mostly Sunny, to win at Southwell and also hopes Lunar Shadow can score at Lingfield and complete his Daily Double

THE forecast is for a Sunny day at Southwell on Tuesday.

The Dan Skelton-trained MOSTLY SUNNY (4.50, Nap) can take the Prestige Safety Your Competent H&S Service Handicap Hurdle under Harry Skelton.

My selection was a mile-and-a-half Flat winner for Heather Main and won readily for his new yard in a two-mile Huntingdon Novice Hurdle two weeks ago.

Despite being less than fluent over the hurdles early on, the son of Zarak took the lead two out and stayed on well to hold off Vivid Pink by two and a quarter lengths.

He is bound to come on for that run and his mark of 102 seems lenient on his handicap debut under Harry Skelton.

On the all-weather at Lingfield, LUNAR SHADOW (6.15, nb) is the pick in the opening Download The Raceday Ready App Handicap over a mile and a half.

The course-and-distance winner is admirably consistent, finishing in the first three six times from her last eight completed races.

She made a pleasing comeback run after a break when runner-up to Another Run at Southwell in March despite not getting a clear run.

And Alan King’s six-year-old should strip fitter for this in the hands of Hollie Doyle.

Main rival and likely favourite Damascus Steel is passed over until he learns to settle better in races.
