Raiders Salary Cap is Top 4 in the NFL

On June 2, it became official that the Raiders now have accumulated their Jimmy Garoppolo contract money and can spend it. They now sit at fourth in the entire league with $34 million in salary cap space currently according to Spotrac.

Thirteen players were designated as post-June 1 cuts and the Raiders used theirs on Garoppolo.

Raiders Salary Cap Holds

Knowing that money would be coming soon, Las Vegas decided to reward Maxx Crosby with a raise on his contract. Obviously, Crosby is undeniably one of the best players in the NFL and is the face of the franchise.

With this raise, he now accounts for almost twelve percent of the total cap this year and will stay under contract until 2027.

Davante Adams is unlikely to be moved to another franchise because of his contract. He comes with a $40 million dead cap price tag if he is moved elsewhere.

Not paying high salary cap money towards a quarterback is one benefit that comes with having little experience at the position. Gardner Minshew has the highest salary cap of the room and currently is at $8 million.

Soon the Raiders will likely utilize this new money they have inherited to benefit the future of the team. The question is will it be for a free agent?
