Women’s Basketball to Travel to Greece This Summer – Fordham University Athletics

BRONX, N.Y. – Set to embark on a week-long trip overseas, Fordham University women’s basketball will head to Greece this summer, Aug. 10-18, as announced by second-year Head Coach Bridgette Mitchell Wednesday afternoon.

The 2024-25 Rams will get some early season tune-ups while overseas, and are set to play a pair of games during their trip later this summer. Fordham will square off with Thessaloniki Select on Aug. 13 at 7:00 p.m. local time, before battling Athens Select on Aug. 16 at 7:00 p.m. local as well.

“I am so excited to take this year’s team to Greece!” said Coach Mitchell. “I am thankful to all of the supporters that we have at Fordham who afforded us this opportunity to offer an unforgettable experience to these young women! We are going to compete, explore and really get to know each other better. I am pumped!”

In their time overseas, the team will also explore Greek history and culture, touring the cities of Athens, Thessaloniki, and Halkidiki, while also viewing famous landmarks and museums, and making time for various community outreach events.

Fordham women’s basketball last traveled to Europe in the summer of 2017, when they spent time in both Italy and Spain.
