Google Fitbit Ace LTE announced: Price, features and other things to know – Times of India
Google has launched Fitbit Ace LTE – a new, first-of-its-kind connected smartwatch for kids aged 7 and above. The smartwatch carries a price tag of $229.95 and offers features like physical activity tracking, calling, messaging and location sharing.
Fitbit Ace LTE comes with a subscription to the Fitbit Ace Pass to enable features like cellular connectivity, access to the Fitbit Arcade and software updates. The Fitbit Ace Pass is available for a monthly fee of $9.99 or a discounted annual subscription of $119.99.
Google Fitbit Ace LTE features gaming abilities
The smartwatch is said to deliver fully immersive, interactive 3D games on the wrist, where the more the ids move, the more game time they unlock. Each game is built specifically for the device — using haptics, sounds, the accelerometer and more — to deliver fun and engaging gameplay.
Ace LTE also recognizes and rewards all sorts of physical activity. All of this movement shows up in Fitbit’s activity ring yet — the ‘Noodle’ — that lives on the home screen.
Google Fitbit Ace LTE OS support
Google Fitbit Ace LTE can be used with smartphones running on Android as well as iOS. It can be paired with the new Fitbit Ace app, enabling users to share location, messaging and calling.
Google Fitbit Ace LTE display and other features
The smartwatch is equipped with a 41.04 x 44.89 mm OLED display with a resolution of 333 PPI. It comes protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the top.
Fitbit Ace LTE features a body made of stainless steel and recycled plastic materials. It weighs approximately 28.03 grams and is designed to be kid-friendly with a raised plastic bumper for additional screen protection.
Powering the smartwatch is the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 processor. It runs Wear OS and packs 2GB RAM with 32GB internal storage capacity. However, it lacks support for the Google Play Store and third-party applications.
The Fitbit Ace LTE is backed by a 328mAh battery. It offers fast charging—reaching 60% charge in just 30 minutes and full charge in about 70 minutes.
