Young man shot on basketball court in Lachine

A man in his early 20s was shot in Lachine on Wednesday night.

Montreal police (SPVM) receiving a call at around 7:30 p.m. about the shooting on Duff Court and Esther-Blondin Street.

The victim was on a basketball court, with other people, when a suspect came up to him and shot him at least once in the upper body, explained SPVM spokesperson Véronique Dubuc. The suspect then reportedly fled on foot.

The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Police are waiting for a medical update.

No arrest has been made so far.
