Father’s Day basketball event teaches life skills, leadership in Detroit

DETROIT – Seize the unique opportunity to join Randy Henry, a lifelong competitive basketball athlete, esteemed media professional, and devoted father of three, at a special event this Father’s Day.

Henry, who recently retired after a remarkable 40-year career with WDIV Local 4, extends a free invitation to Metro-Detroit fathers and their children to The Dave Bing Park in the 18904 block of Lesure Street on Saturday, (June 15) from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. for a Father’s Day Basketball Event.

The event is designed for a friendly day of hoops and bonding and to spark meaningful discussions on how fathers can mentor their children on and off the court.

Henry, founder of the B.A.L.L. Foundation in 1993, emphasizes that athletic prowess is just one part of the equation. His foundation is dedicated to fostering life and leadership skills alongside athletic training.

Event Highlights:

• Father-Child Basketball Games: Engage in fun, friendly matches that promote teamwork and bonding

• Life Skills Discussions: Learn how to develop a game plan for success in life, guided by Randy Henry

• Book Signing: Be among the first 25 families to arrive and receive a complimentary copy of Henry’s new book, “Game Plan for Life: What is your Game Plan”
