Wednesday tab: Seize the Grey leads 12 graded winners

Preakness winner Seize the Grey worked at Churchill Downs on Wednesday in preparation for a start in the Belmont Stakes at Saratoga next Saturday.

The Arrogate colt breezed six furlongs in 1:13.0 for trainer D. Wayne Lukas. It was his first timed work since before his win in the Grade 1 Pat Day Mile on the Kentucky Derby undercard.

White Abarrio (Race Day), a three-time Grade 1 winner (2023 Breeders’ Cup Classic, 2023 Whitney, 2022 Florida Derby), worked four furlongs in 47.2 seconds at Belmont Park on Wednesday morning. It was the second fastest of 49 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed 10th in the Saudi Cup (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the dirt at King Abdulaziz Racecourse on Feb. 24 for trainer Rick Dutrow.

Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Keeneland. In her last start she placed second in the Derby City Distaff (G1) going seven furlongs on the main track at Churchill Downs on May 4 for trainer Brett Brinkman.

Fev Rover (Gutaifan), a Grade 1 winner (2023 Beverly D.), worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Woodbine on Wednesday morning. It was the 14th fastest of 21 works at the distance. Her previous work was 11 days ago going four furlongs at Woodbine. In her last start she placed 11th in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf going 1 1/4 miles on the turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 4 for trainer Mark Casse.
