CHERRY XTRFY Launches First Microphones For Gamers And Streamers

High-end keyboard maker Cherry has announced that it’s moving into the microphone market. Initially, there will be two models in the Ngale Series and they are designed specifically for gamers and streamers and will be launched under the CHERRY XTRFY brand.

The Ngale R is a USB condenser microphone with a distinctive retro design with high sound quality. The standalone USB mic offers multiple polar patterns and contains a single, 16mm, high-quality, cardioid capsule which Cherry claims is ideal for streaming, voiceovers and solo recordings.

For intensive gaming, the Ngale R has a low-cut filter that can be activated to reduce noise. The mic is plug-and-play making it simple to install directly to a computer via a USB port. As you might expect for a gaming mic, the Ngale R has RGB lighting to give it an on-screen presence. The mice can sample as high as 96 kHz/24-bit.

Touching the top of the mic instantly mutes the sound and the RGB lighting indicates that the mic is muted. With its retro style, high performance and ease of use, Cherry thinks it will prove very popular with gamers, streamers and content creators looking to make an impact.

The second model to be unveiled is the CHERRY XTRFY Ngale X. Looking suspiciously like a Shure SM7B, the microphone combines XLR and USB interfaces in a dynamic microphone that’s designed for professional recordings.

Thanks to a large cardioid capsule, the Ngale X claims to offer excellent performance at a more affordable price. The microphone has a low-cut filter for minimizing unwanted sound when gaming. It also has RGB lighting that glows red when the microphone is muted.

Because it has an XLR output, the Ngale X can be connected to a mixer or other professional audio interface. If you haven’t got an interface, no problem. It can simply be connected directly to a computer using the USB port.

The last product to be announced today by Cherry is the Ngale Boom Arm. This flexible microphone arm includes cable management, is easy to install and offers a 360-degree rotation for maximum reach. The boom arm fits both the Ngale R, Ngale X and other microphones via standard threading.

Pricing & Availability: The Ngale R, Ngale X and the Ngale Boom Arm will be available in stores on May 28. The price for the Ngale R, while the Ngale X sells for $189. The Ngale Boom Arm is priced at $99.
