Former Wichita State basketball player Henry Carr dies
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Henry Carr, who played basketball at Wichita State from 1983-87 and was the brother of former WSU star and NBA player Antoine Carr, died early Tuesday morning, according to a social media post from Antoine Carr.
Like his older brother Antoine, Henry played at Wichita Heights before going on to WSU. Henry Carr blossomed as a senior in 1986-87, averaging a team-best 11.8 points and 7.0 rebounds for a team that reached the NCAA Tournament. He was drafted in 1987 by the Los Angeles Clippers but never played in the NBA.
Another brother, James Carr, played at Heights before playing briefly with Wichita State in 1978-79.
A social media post from James Carr said the family will be accepting donations for funeral services, which have not yet been announced.
