Premier Andrew Furey and his Canadian counterparts are in Halifax this week for a series of meetings.
The Council of the Federation, which includes premiers from all provinces and territories, will spend the next three days discussing a variety of issues such as health care, housing, and Canada-U.S. relations.
Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston, who serves as Council chair, says the goal of the meetings is for governments to work collaboratively to address issues impacting Canadians including Ottawa’s foray into areas of provincial jurisdiction such as health, daycare and dental care.
A news conference will be held on Wednesday to wrap up the conference.
