CROOKSTON YOUTH BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION TO HOST FREE BASKETBALL CAMP JULY 22-24 – KROX

The Crookston Youth Basketball Association offers a free basketball camp for all incoming kindergarteners through sixth graders. The camp will be held at Crookston High School from July 22 to July 24.

Several members of the Crookston basketball community will run the camp. Some junior varsity and varsity players will assist with the camp along with their coaches, such as the Girls’ High School Coach, Kory Baril, and the Boys’ High School Coach, Bruce Erdmann. They will work on some fundamentals such as ball handling, passing, and shooting but will also have some games/contests set up, as the camp is geared towards letting the kids have a fun time with basketball.

“K through second is noon until 1:30 p.m., and then there will be a little break to get kids in and out. Then, the third through sixth graders will come in from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., hoping to get a lot of kids there. For more information, you can visit the website at crookstonyouthbasketball.com. They can email their information. They’ll see all they need to do on that website to be in the camp.” Says Erdmann.

The camp is free, thanks to the Crookston Youth Basketball Association. Erdmann details, “We’ll be putting it on through the CYBA. It is all volunteered through the CYBA, and we will have some JV and Varsity players there to help out a little bit. Coaches from the CYBA and parents are volunteering just to make it fun for the kids, to get them involved with basketball, and hopefully, they keep that drive to play basketball.”
