Radhika Merchant’s Latest Look Is A Collaboration Of Art And Fashion | Grazia India

Art and fashion have always been bedfellows, and newly minted Radhika Ambani’s (nee Merchant) latest look exemplifies the collaboration between the two.

Collaborating with contemporary Indian artist and sculptor Jayasri Burman, along with the creative prowess of Rhea Kapoor, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla crafted a masterpiece that transcends traditional bridal wear.

At the heart of this creation lies Jayasri Burman’s evocative painting, meticulously hand-painted across 12 panels of special Italian canvas. Infused with Jayasri’s mythical charm, the lehenga intricately weaves together symbolic elements celebrating Anant and Radhika’s union. Human figures exuding celestial radiance symbolize the divine essence within their love, while fauna motifs, particularly elephants, resonate with Anant’s reverence for these auspicious creatures.

The craftsmanship is a testament to perfection, adorned with real gold Zardozi embroidery and a shimmering sea of sequins that illuminate Jayasri’s artwork. The blouse, a marvel in itself, boasts hand-embroidered Resham detailing by the master artisans of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.

Reflecting on this unique collaboration, Jayasri Burman remarked, “Abu Sandeep are true artists, just like me, except their canvas is couture. Working alongside Rhea and the Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla team allowed me the freedom to express my artistic essence fully. My brush danced with joy across the canvas, and I hope it brings a smile to Radhika’s face, perhaps even gracing her walls one day!”

This creation is more than bridal couture; it is a seamless blend of artistry and fashion, paying homage to the inseparable bond between the two. “Art and fashion have always been lovers,” said Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. “One cannot exist without the other, making this collaboration the perfect ode to the perfect couple that is Anant and Radhika.”
