ATP Wimbledon Semifinal Alcaraz vs Medvedev Best Bet
ATP Wimbledon semifinals
Alcaraz – Medvedev: 12.07.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 3-2
Carlos Alcaraz has won five straight matches. Here at Wimbledon, Alcaraz won his first round match against Lajal in tight straight sets as we predicted. Alcaraz could not find his rhythm, and was just struggling with his tennis. After that, Carlos defeated Vukic in the second round in straight sets as well. Alcaraz lost his serve twice in the first set, but still turned the set around and won through the tiebreak. In the second and third sets, Carlos was a way better player on the court, winning both sets 6-2. After that, in the third round, Carlos had it tough against Tiafoe as we predicted. After around 2:30 hours on the court, Alcaraz was 1-2 down. Both players have played great tennis, but Alcaraz was the better player under pressure and won the fourth set through the tiebreak. Tiafoe was tired in the fifth set, and Alcaraz was just pushing him to the limit. In the 1/8-Finals, Alcaraz defeated Humbert in four sets. Besides losing the third set 1-6, Carlos has shown why he is the biggest favorite and defending champion here in London. In the quarterfinals, Alcaraz lost the first set against Paul. However, once he stepped up his game, Alcaraz won three straight sets, and won the match comfortably in the end. Last year at Wimbledon, Carlos played his best tennis. En route to the title, Alcaraz won against Berrettini, Rune, Medvedev, Djokovic and some other great players.
Daniil Medvedev has won five straight matches. Here at Wimbledon, Medvedev won his first round match against Kovacevic in straight sets. Daniil saved all three breakpoints, and had a great serving performance. After that, in the second round, Medvedev had it rough against Muller as we predicted. Medvedev lost the first set, but was able to win the match in four tight sets. In his third round match, Medvedev played his best tennis against Struff. He was 2-0 up after just an hour. However, Struff won the third set 6-4, and was even 3-1 up in the fourth set tiebreak. Daniil stayed calm, and played patiently. In the 1/8-Finals, Dimitrov was 3-5 down against Medvedev, and unfortunately retired after that. The Bulgarian slipped to 2-3 in the first set. Dimitrov tried to continue, but it seems that his injury is serious, unfortunately. That being said, Medvedev had some decent time to recover for his quarterfinal match against Jannik. In the quarterfinal, Medvedev played his best match of the season, winning against Sinner in five tough sets. Even though Jannik was not 100% fit, Medvedev still played a great match. Besides reaching the semifinals last year at Wimbledon where he lost against Alcaraz, Daniil never had any remarkable results on grass.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Alcaraz is the big favorite in this matchup. Medvedev had a rough match against Sinner, so we believe that he will be exhausted against Carlos. Alcaraz is still the biggest favorite to win the title, and we believe that he will win against Medvedev easily.
That being said, Alcaraz covering the games handicap is a value bet.
