Logitech Unveils Its New G309 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse
Serious gamers can be very fussy about the mice when it comes to performance, comfort and reliability. A truly great gaming mouse needs exceptional wireless performance, low latency, precision control, low weight and seamless synchronization with the gamer’s movements.
To address this need, Logitech has developed its new G309 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse. This premium mouse offers has six programmable buttons and wheels, dual-wireless connectivity, 25K tracking sensor, plus a newly designed ergonomic shape.
The G309 Lightspeed mouse uses Logitech’s flagship technology such as the company’s HERO 25K sensor and compatibility with Logitech’s Powerplay technology and Lightspeed wireless connectivity. All this comes in a mouse with a new and more affordable price.
The G309 Lightspeed can be used with or without an AA battery. By using Logitech G’s optional PowerPlay wireless charging system, the 18g AA battery can be removed which makes the G309 even lighter and more agile.
This new gaming mouse has a power-efficient HERO 25K DPI sensor. A single AA battery can power the G309 for more than 300 hours with a 1ms report rate. Switching the connectivity mode from Lightspeed to regular Bluetooth doubles the G309’s battery life to more than 600 hours.
Despite all its innovative technology, the Logitech G309 Lightspeed isn’t particularly heavy or bulky. Weighing in at just 86g with a battery installed, the G309 can have its battery removed when using PowerPlay, taking the weight down to just 68g.
Lightspeed wireless technology is ideal for high-performance gamers and ensures the G309 is faster than most wired mice. By combining Lightspeed with Logitech G’s HERO 25K sensor, the G309 has a resolution of up to 25,600 DPI with no acceleration or smoothing.
Lightspeed can connect two devices with one receiver using G Hub’s Device Pairing Tool. Players can use the G309 Lightspeed mouse with the same receiver as their Logitech gaming keyboard, including the recently launched Logitech G515 TKL Lightspeed gaming keyboard.
The G309 has hybrid optical-mechanical switches which are fast, reliable and precise. These Lightforce switches use galvanic contact parts that work like mechanical switches to give satisfyingly tactile feedback. The optical and mechanical triggers used on the switches are reliable and have ultra-low-latency optical actuation.
