Luke Shaw ‘shares’ which Premier League team Arsenal star Bukayo Saka supports
Luke Shaw has surprisingly suggested Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is a Manchester United supporter.
Saka, who is currently in action for England at Euro 2024, scored a decisive equaliser during Saturday’s quarter-final clash with Switzerland, forcing extra-time and penalties.
The Arsenal star later stepped up to score a spot-kick to help Gareth Southgate’s side to the last four of the tournament, earning England a tie with the Netherlands on Wednesday evening.
Reflecting on his effort that helped England back into the match, Saka was asked to name where this ranked in his career and opted to select scoring against United – which he has done three times in his career – as his favourite strike.
Reacting to this claim, Shaw responded: “It’s because he supports United, that’s why it’s his favourite.” Biting back, Saka said: “Look at him, he’s trying to do all this lying again!”
The United left-back then added: “I’m lying? Be honest. We can ask anyone in the squad. He’s so bad [at lying].”

Saka’s comments come after he claimed back in May Old Trafford was his favourite opposition ground to play at. He told Sky Sports: “When you start from outside, growing up watching football, the special nights you’ve seen in the Premier League and Champions League at Old Trafford, it was nice to be on the pitch and to play,” said the England international of his memories at the home of the Red Devils. “I have played there a few times now and I think it is definitely my favourite stadium to play in.”
Asked if there is a special feeling to the Arsenal versus United fixture, Saka stated: “There is. The two teams are so big in English history and they have had rivalries for many, many years.
“Every time I play against them, I understand that – from growing up – Arsenal fans and Man United fans are always going at each other. I understand it. It is always a big, big game – and it will be on Sunday. I am looking forward to it and I always enjoy to play game like this.”
