Horse and auto racing, football and baseball all on the local sports schedule this weekend

Auto Racing

It is Starter Stock Showdown weekend at the Hythe Motor Speedway.

Saturday racing starts at 5 p.m. Sunday’s races start at 2 p.m.

Triathlon

The Eastlink Centre Triathlon is set for Sunday.

The adult race starts at 8 a.m. with the Kids of Steel race starting at 11:30. The full schedule can be found here.

Some roads and facilities will be unavailable during the triathlon. A full list can be found here.

Football

The Peace Country Cowboys host the Central Alberta Buccaneers Saturday.

Kick-off will be at 6 p.m. at CKC Field.

The Cowboys are winless in three games this year.

Wheatbelt Baseball League

The games this weekend games will mark the end of the regular season in the Wheatbelt Baseball League.

Friday night, Rycroft in Manning starts at 7:15 p.m.

Saturday, the County Brewers will be in High Prairie for a 1 p.m. start.

Sunday, High Prairie is Manning. That game will also start at 1 p.m.

Minor Baseball

The U11 AA Reds are in Edmonton. They play the SJP Jays at 3 p.m. Saturday, the SWEMBA White Sox Sunday at 9 a.m. and Okotoks Sunday at noon.

The 13U AA Reds Team Wray.

The 15U Reds AA Team Sinclair is in Innisfail this weekend. They play Lacombe at 3 p.m. Saturday, Innisfail at 9 a.m. Sunday and Red Deer at noon Sunday.

The U15 Reds AA Team Weston has games at Evergreen Park at noon Saturday against the Southwest Edmonton White Sox and Sunday at 9 a.m. against Olds and 3 p.m. versus Consort.

Consort and Olds play each other at 3 p.m., then Consort plays the White Sox at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Olds plays the White Sox at noon Sunday.

Those games will also be played at Evergreen Park.
