Chelsea news and transfers LIVE with N’Golo Kante claim after Williams battle
Didi Hamann believes Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich can cut it in the Premier League.
The Germany international has one year remaining on his contract in Bavaria but is facing intense speculation over his future.
It has been suggested that he is looking to move to either Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid or Barcelona. However, Hamann thinks he needs to find a club who have a plan for him.
He told Gambling Zone: “I think Kimmich could definitely play in the Premier League. He only has one year left on his contract, so there could be an opportunity for him to try something different.
“I think he said in an interview that there were only six teams he would consider joining, so you imagine the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool will be included within that.
“The question is, what position will these clubs play him in? He finished the season playing for Bayern at right back, which is where he is playing for Germany, but we’ve also seen him change his position and play as a central midfielder for the last few years.
“I think the jury is still out on whether he’s a world class central midfielder. His position is the only issue I can see with him. He will need to pick a club that has a clear plan for him.”

It doesn’t mean much from a Chelsea perspective and could mean even less with the addition of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
But Kimmich is a versatile footballer, we’ve seen in midfield and at full-back and with the departure of Thiago Silva, there is room for an important, experienced member of the squad. With the calibre of Kimmich and his Champions League-winning pedigree, can’t be one to pass up if the opportunity arose, surely!
