Golf: Woodstock’s Chris Sanger finishes in a tie for fourth at Pro Classic

TROY, N.Y. — Woodstock Golf Club head pro Chris Sanger fired a 3-over-par 74 on Monday, July 1, to finish in a tie for fourth in the Northeastern New York PGA Section’s Pro Classic Series No. 4 at the Country Club of Troy.

Sanger finished four shots behind 2021 Woodstock Open champion Michael Shine, an assistant pro from Schuyler Meadows Club in Loudonville, New York. Shine won with a 1-under 70.

Other local competitors were unattached pro Darryl Jack (77), The Swan Golf and Country Club pro Andrew DeForest (77), unattached pro John DeForest (79) and Twaalfskill Club head pro Jeff Schaller Jr. (84).

In the Legends competition, John Durcan Sr. of Alapaha Golf Center finished second with a 78. He was one shot behind winner Willie King of Plattsburgh Golf, who recorded a 77.
