Utah State Men’s Tennis Announces Three Signees – Utah State University Athletics

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men’s tennis head coach Aaron Paajanen announced the additions of Keanu Rigby, Dmitri Goubin and Elito Nobel. The three signees will join the team for the upcoming fall season.

Rigby, a native of Tremonton, Utah, will be a sophomore as he returns to USU after spending the past two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Montreal, Canada. During his freshman season as an Aggie in 2021, he posted a 4-4 singles record during the dual competition season.

“We are excited to have Keanu back with us,” Paajanen said. “During his one season with us, we could always count on him to compete at 100 percent, 100 percent of the time. He is a fan favorite.”

Goubin, an incoming freshman from Plano, Texas, was a highly sought-after high school player, ranking as a four-star recruit by the Tennis Recruiting Network. He ranked No. 41 nationally and No. 6 in Texas for doubles competition. In 2022, he claimed the high school state championship for doubles, and in 2024 he made it to the state quarterfinals for singles. He also earned the Texas Slam 18’s doubles championship.

“Dmitri is a physically strong and tough player who has a lot of potential,” Paajanen said. “We are excited to start working with him this fall.”

Nobel is an incoming freshman from Stockholm, Sweden. He ranks No. 1823 in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) rankings and earned both singles and doubles titles at the ITF J30 Stavanger.

“Eliot is a talented player with a big serve and big forehand,” Paajanen said. “He has the potential to be a very good college tennis player.”
