Google Pixel 9 may have more rounded corners, symmetric bezels and redesigned camera island

A new video on X suggests Google might launch a pink coloured Pixel 9 with a redesigned camera island and a flatter frame.

Google recently confirmed that it will be launching the Pixel 9 smartphone series on August 13 this year, a month before Apple unveils this year’s iPhone lineup. While the Pixel 9 lineup has been leaked multiple times in the last few months, a new video making rounds on the Internet now shows the phone in its full glory.

Posted by @hanibioud on X, the unofficial hands-on video shows a pink-coloured Pixel 9, which might be the “Peony Pink” from the leak that surfaced earlier this year in May.

In the video, we can see that the alleged pink Pixel 9 has a flatter edge than its predecessor, but Google seems to have made the corners more rounded. Since the phone isn’t switched on in the clip, this may likely be a dummy unit that made its way in the wild. The post also suggests that the Pixel 9 will come with 256GB storage.

The video corroborates earlier claims suggesting that the Pixel 9 lineup will have a redesigned camera bar. Instead of stretching from side to side of the frame, it has a rounded pill shape, in line with Pixel Fold’s camera island.

As one would expect, the Pixel 9 will probably be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset and may not offer a significant performance bump compared to Google’s current-gen chipset.

Rumour also has it that the regular compact Pixel 9 will have a 6.24-inch screen, come with 12GB RAM and pack a dual camera setup without a telephoto lens.
