The Texas Tech football program unveiled new uniforms on Monday, the first day of the Red Raiders’ deal with adidas after being outfitted by Under Armour since 2006.

The black home and white road jerseys have a “Texas Tech” wordmark across the chest, while the red alternate jersey has “Red Raiders,” as well as two thick stripes on the sleeves.

The wordmark, stripes and numbers – which are similar but larger than the Red Raiders’ previous font – all match, with the same base and outline colors on each jersey.

That means a white base with a red outline on the black jerseys, black base with a red outline on the white jerseys and white with a black outline on the red jerseys.

The two stripes are then carried over to the black, white and red pants, which can be worn interchangeably. The same goes for the black and white helmets, as well.

Both lids feature the iconic Double “T” on the sides and black facemask, as well as a single stripe that matches the sleeves and pants of the black and white sets.

Overall, the uniforms blend Texas Tech’s look from the late 1980s, early 1990s and mid-2000s, paying homage to players such as Billy Joe Tolliver, Zach Thomas and Michael Crabtree.

The new uniforms will make their on-field debut when Texas Tech hosts Abilene Christian on Aug. 31. That will mark the first game of a 10-year partnership with adidas.

The Red Raiders are also set to unveil an alternate uniform in October that honors three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Patrick Mahomes, complete with his stylized gladiator logo.
