$SP.00) is the way I am leaning in the opener. Simon Miller trained juvenile that resumed over this track/distance two weeks ago where he sat on speed and seemed to move quite well before being clicked up and away he went, gapping his rivals with change up speed and was impressive. This race is no harder and with natural upside, he’s clearly the one to beat.

2 Brazen Bid (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a Brazen Beau trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Feb 10 at Bunbury when far from disgraced in defeat in a strong race won by one of the better juveniles in WA this season, Golden Kathleen. Trialled well to get ready for the return and he should be strong at the end of 1000m.

5 Caporetto (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a son of Rommel for Neville Parnham that is on debut. This guy has had a couple of trials in readiness for start one, firstly over 400m before stepping up to 1000m when winning the trial here and moved well enough to my eye, albeit the margin was narrow. In well after the claim, I think watch the market and see what it does.

2 Yonga Lass (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is better suited over further but she has a touch of quality about her and I’ll bank on that class/quality to get her home. She resumes for Team Williams, having not raced since Perth Cup Day when given a 12/10 by Pike to win the Starstruck. Likely spots them a start, but her trial was good and she’ll be stronger than most at the end.

4 Russian To The Bar (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a son of Russian Revolution for Luke Fernie that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since March 16 when down the track over 1800m at Ascot and just didn’t run the trip out for mine. He seems best suited as a sprinter so keen to see him at 1000m. His best is clearly good enough to threaten.

Long Shot

1 Beads (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is the short course specialist in the field and maps perfect. He ran two weeks back at this track/distance when wide no cover throughout and that early burn just told late in the piece, tiring behind Cash Away. Maps to get a much better run in transit and his best is more than good enough to take this out.

3 Berbere (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) to resume a winner. Team Williams trained gelding that is first up, having not raced since Sep 2 over 1200m here, getting a sweet sit on speed before being clicked up and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and win. Winkers first time, two trials…there is clear intent for mine to say he resumes with a win.

1 Bayezid (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a son of I Am Invincible that resumes for Tiarnna Robertson. This gelding was last seen at the track on Feb 24 at Ascot when wide no cover for the trip and just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Tycoon Harry, who was flying at the time. Good fresh horse, loves Belmont and has trialled super in readiness for the return.

8 On The Full (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a knockout hope. He resumed two weeks back here and you could say he was unlucky not to be in the finish. Just got held up at times when wanting to build the revs so be forgiving of the effort. If he can use the inside gate and settle closer in the run, he’s going to take holding out.

6 Capo Veloce (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) looks ready to win and I do think this is a very winnable assignment for him. He ran over 1300m here at the midweeks where he got back to near last in the run but really liked his finale late in the piece when fourth to Pro Latte. Back to 1200m I find interesting but if he can settle closer in the run, he’s going to take holding out.

$SP.00) is racing in consistent form for Adam Durrant and is one of the key prospects. He ran over 1000m here a fortnight back when on speed throughout and tried his guts out but just found on better in Crippalenko. The query is 1200m at this level but perhaps with a conservative steer, he should be okay.

Long Shot

1 Famous Jurney (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has a good racing style and fourth up from a spell, he should just about be at peak fitness. He ran over this track/distance last time out where he was on speed throughout and tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite see it through when third to Playing Games. If he finds the front and gets control, he’ll take running down.

You don’t know how good they are til they’re beaten. And at this stage, 2 Twain’s Angel (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is 5/5 to start her career so it’s hard to get away from her. Lot of quality about her win at this track/distance two weeks ago when on speed and trucking before being clicked up and she safely held her rivals at bay. This is no harder and for mine, she only has to hold her form to win again.

7 Best Mood (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has returned in super order for Mick Grantham. 2/2 this prep, winning fresh at Ascot, leading throughout, before taking cover here last time and although got the staggers late, had enough in hand to score, beating a nice filly in Generosity. Tricky draw, but hard to knock the way he’s racing at present.

3 Bigdayonit (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is an improver at odds for Ashley Maley. Seven weeks between runs when racing here two weeks back over 1400m when quite keen behind the speed but didn’t have much left for the straight and was a tired horse. Better set up here and I do think back to a more truly run 1200m, he can bounce back.

$SP.00) gets the nod, just. He and Fat Roy Slim had an epic battle here last Saturday, with once again Pike producing a masterful ride aboard Fat Roy Slim to secure another narrow but remarkable win. Citino had dashed clear early in the straight and looked all over the winner but couldn’t quite see it through and was nabbed late. I think he was three weeks between runs, 1800m to 2200m…just lacked that killer finale. He has that run under the belt now, he’s the way I am leaning.

1 Fat Roy Slim…(Bet Now: 
$SP.00) I’m not sure what you can say about this horse and his sequence of wins. It has been quite extraordinary the way he has been winning, getting miracle splits late to drive hard and win, with Pike producing gems for the most part, including last Saturday. Starting to creep right up in the weights now but gee it’s hard to knock how he’s going.

3 Stylax (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is the one with good upside. Fred Kersley trained gelding that has only had two runs back from a spell, the latest being over the mile here two weeks back where he got back to near last in the run and did make up ground but was never really a factor behind the in form Oly’s Choice. The rise in trip is ideal and if this race is crying out for different form, he brings the best different form.

8 Stormy Tawny (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a ripping mare for Team Williams and I am with her to get back into the winners list. She resumed over 1200m here two weeks ago and I thought did a really good job in defeat, closing off like she did when eventually clear when third to Twain’s Angel. Second up winner in the past, fitter, up to 1400m, should get clear air…she’ll take a power of beating.

2 Rope Them In (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a talented three year old for Steve Wolfe that is on the seven day back up after winning here last Saturday. He was a heavily backed favourite and although there were a few nervous moments when it came to getting clear, he eventually got the split, class came to the fore and he was too good. Harder here, but confident he measures up.

3 Benji’s (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a Cliff Green trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Feb 10 at Bunbury when on speed over 1675m and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it out when third to Birdieagle. Not a noted fresh horse but has trialled well leading in and he does have a good track/distance record.

1 Super Smink (Bet Now: $7.50) each way for me in an open edition of the Raconteur. This filly isn’t the same one from 6-12 months ago, that looked all class. The wheels have fallen off. But, she is back on track I feel after racing here three weeks ago…well I say raced here three weeks ago but it was more a barrier trial, getting badly held up in the straight when having something to offer. Drawn out, so should get clear air and time to wind into her work.

10 Generosity (Bet Now: $3.80) is a beauty for Simon Miller and has to be respected as one of the leading contenders. Blinkers went on and there was more intent when racing here a fortnight back over 1200m and that formula proved to be the difference as she was able to race clear late for a strong win, and a deserving win after a number of good efforts prior. Now her confidence is up, she can go on with it.

7 Cool Memory (Bet Now: $14.00) I can entertain for wider exotics. He comes back to 1400m after racing over the mile two weeks back against the older horses when on speed throughout and tried his guts out but 1600m at that level just found him out behind Celebrity Witness. Back in trip, good racing style, he’ll give cheek I am sure.

$SP.00) for me in the get out. Garry McPherson trained gelding that ran in the Regional Final two weeks ago and he should have won, simple as that. Carbery gave him none and it was a very ugly watch in the straight when third. He gets room to move this time around, he gets Chris Parnham, hard fit…all points to him I’d suggest.

$SP.00) is a Donna Riordan trained mare that looks to have come back in really good order. She resumed over 1300m here where she gave them a start and a beating, letting down with a brilliant finale to win and win well in a super return. Harder here, but has good upside to come and up in trip, she appeals.

4 Dun With The Blues (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a daughter of Dundeel for Team Pearce that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since December 28 at Ascot over 2200m when back in the run and spotted those in front a start but kept finding the line in a good effort behind Hoist The Colours. Pike on first up and with sharp trial work under the belt, I say she’s here to run really well.
