7 Most Likely Lakers To Be Traded Before the 2024-25 NBA Season
According to reporting by Jovan Buha of The Athletic, Reddish, and Christian Wood are two of the likeliest Lakers to be traded. This is not a surprise as Reddish didn’t contribute much last season despite getting ample opportunity.
The 24-year-old forward got another chance in Los Angeles last offseason after failing in his previous teams. Not only that, but he also started in 26 games for the Lakers and played over 20 minutes per game. However, he only made 38.9% of his field goal attempts and 33.6% of his threes. His lack of offensive production cost him his rotation role and despite his solid defense, he didn’t see the floor much as the season progressed.
For some confounding reason, Rob Pelinka had given Reddish a player option, which the former Duke standout obviously took. Now, the Lakers are trying to find the fifth team in six years to take a chance on the draft bust.
Another disappointing free agent acquisition that the Lakers gave a player option for no apparent reason. To no one’s surprise, Christian Wood failed to make an impact in Los Angeles, averaging 6.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and an assist in 17.4 minutes per game in 50 appearances. He had a 56.8 True Shooting percentage, a miserable efficiency number for a center.
And his offense is supposed to be the good part of his game. His defense has always been somewhere between underwhelming and awful. That was no different in Los Angeles. Now, Wood is on the trade block and can likely only be moved as part of a bigger trade package along with some of the other players on this list.
