The final tally for the Janeway Telethon is $2.86 million, raised during the 40th anniversary of the event on NTV on the weekend.
The President and CEO of the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation, Rebecca Dutton, was overjoyed to see the numbers. She says there is likely no family in the province who hasn’t been touched by the Janeway in one way or another.
Dutton says the money will be spent on research, education and keeping up with technology.
Given that this is the 40th anniversary, The Janeway brought back some patients and donors from years ago.
They encourage people to give so that they can do the best for their patients, such as laparoscopic surgery over conventional means.
