3-star RB Wesley Yarbrough commits to Arizona, first prep rusher to pledge to Wildcats under Brent Brennan

This past weekend has been very successful for the Arizona Wildcats, as the results for their first summer official visit weekend continue to roll in. The ‘Cats have added 3-star corner Josh Tuchek and 3-star athlete Rambo Robinson so far. And they weren’t done yet.

Dynamic 3-star running back Wesley Yarbrough announced his commitment to Arizona on Monday.

Yarbrough is Alonzo Carter’s first high school running back commit since coming to Tucson. The Crosby, Texas native has a well-balanced attack in his game. He has enough speed to take the edge and runs with some good balance. He has also shown to be a big weapon in the passing game.

The 5-foot-11, 205 pound back had a very solid junior season last year. In 10 games, Yarbrough racked up 737 yards and 8 touchdowns on 152 carries. He also nabbed 12 catches for 185 yards and 3 scores. As a sophomore, he had 82 carries for 308 yards and 4 touchdowns. Yarbrough improved his average yards per carry last year, going from 3.8 in 2022 to 4.8 as a junior.

On the recruiting front, he chose Arizona over 12 other offers, such as: Houston, Oklahoma State, Utah, UNLV, TCU, Memphis and Tulsa.

Yarbrough is ranked as a 3-star in both of 247’s ranking systems. Internally, 247 has him as the 65th running back and the No. 142 player in Texas. In the Composite rankings, Yarbrough comes in as the No. 570 player nationally, the No. 46 running back and the 100th best player in Texas.

You can view his junior season highlights below.

Yarbrough becomes the sixth member of Arizona’s 2025 recruiting class, the third who visited the UA campus last weekend.
