The Montreal Canadiens traded up from 26th overall to 21st earlier in the day on Friday. With that higher pick, they selected centreman Michael Hage.
Like Demidov selected fifth overall by the team, Hage is a dynamic offensive player with great hands. He scored 33 goals with the Chicago Steel in his final season of prep for a collegiate career. He is committed to the University of Michigan for next season, giving the Habs a few years to see him grow before bringing him into the organization.
We will have more on the Habs’ 21st overall selection soon.
