2024 NBA mock draft: Where could Bronny James land after forgoing college eligibility?

Bronny James will forgo his remaining college eligibility to enter the 2024 NBA Draft, his agent told ESPN Wednesday morning. Where might he end up?

James, the eldest son of LeBron James, initially announced he was entering the draft and the college transfer portal in early April after playing his first collegiate season with the Southern California Trojans. In 25 games, he averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 36.6% from the field.

Since his declaration for the draft, James has been a hot topic of conversation among fans and media analysts. Is he prepared to join the NBA after just one year playing in college? How much is the decision driven by the desire to play with his 39-year-old father, who just finished his 21st season in the league?

After the 19 year old’s announcement that he’s forgoing the remainder of his eligibility ahead of Wednesday night’s deadline, there’s no turning back. Here’s what draft analysts say about James’ potential NBA landing spots in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Michael Scotto writes: “Bronny had a 40.5-inch max vertical leap, a 6-foot-7 wingspan, and the second-highest on-the-move non-stationary shooting percentage at 76 percent. According to Shams Charania (of The Athletic), Bronny had 10 workout invites but is only considering the Lakers and Suns.”

CBS Sports: Los Angeles Lakers, No. 17 overall

Travis Branham writes: “It’s decision time in Los Angeles. Do the Lakers want to keep LeBron James in purple and gold? Rich Paul’s comments regarding LeBron’s ‘free agent’ status has amplified the pressure, and if LA wants to keep him around, there’s no better way to do that than by drafting his son, Bronny.”
