Race 1. (11:00) Midway (Bm72) 1100m

Back Me

11 Eye Pea Oh (Bet Now: $13.00) is an each way bet for me here. Team Freedman trained mare that comes through the Midway from three weeks ago at Newcastle. She got back to near last in the run, was forced wide, but kept finding the line in a really good effort against the pattern behind Navy Blood. That was at 1200m and I do feel that 1100m is perfect for her. Positive ride, she’ll take beating.

Danger

20 Bodgie (Bet Now: $16.00) is one I can entertain for wider exotics. Paul Perry trains thus guy, who was near the speed over 1200m at Newcastle three weeks back and fought on well but couldn’t quite see it through behind Navy Blood. Back to 1100m, lands near the front, he’ll be hard to run down I’d suggest.

Long Shot

2 Delexo (Bet Now: $21.00) is a Kristen Buchanan trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Feb 17 at Randwick when down the track in a Midway behind dominant winner Martial Music. He is a horse who can sprint well on the fresh side and his trial work to get ready has been quite good to the eye.

Race 2. (11:35) Ranvet Hcp 1300m

Back Me

3 Sovereign Hill (Bet Now: $10.00) can run a much improved race on firmer footing. I just think forgive and forget the first up run at Newcastle. He did too much work in front and on testing ground, he couldn’t maintain the gallop so forgive and forget he went around. Better for the run, firmer deck, good racing style, he can bounce back hard.

Danger

7 Point And Shoot (Bet Now: $11.00) is a horse who I am convinced has an engine under the hood. He did more than enough on debut here before going to Newcastle where he wasn’t 100% happy in the conditions but kept finding the line in a really good effort behind Pisces. Hard fit now, 1300m, keen to see how he goes.

Long Shot

10 Concordia Wind (Bet Now: $11.00) looks a filly of some promise for Chris Waller. Market liked her at odds when she debuted at Gosford and #They got it spot on. She gave them a start and a beating and was impressive the way she put them away. Comes straight to town but confident she can measure up.

Race 3. (12:10) Tab Highway Plate (C3) 1500m

Back Me

13 Amarantz (Bet Now: $18.00) brings the A1 form and has good upside for Danielle Seib. Completely unwanted in betting when resuming at the midweeks on the Kenso but she ran a very credible returning race I thought, closing off from off the speed to run second to dominant all the way winner Ningaloo Star. Fitter and up in trip, back to Highway grade, she appeals big time.

Danger

1 Rematch (Bet Now: $3.30) looks extremely well suited to a Plate vs a Handicap. He ran in the Highway at Scone where he lumped 59.5kg and ran a very credible race in defeat from off the speed when a closing third to impressive winner Dances With Hooves. Back in trip slightly suits and with relative weight relief, he appeals.

Long Shot

11 Kenichi (Bet Now: $23.00) looks hard to beat here for Danielle Seib. This gelding was off a freshen up when racing in the Highway at Hawkesbury several weeks ago. He attempted to lead throughout and tried his guts out but just had no answers for the finale of Gentileschi, who is above average, so that form clearly reads well for this and with good upside, will take beating.

Race 4. (12:45) Egroup Protective Services (Bm72) 1500m

Back Me

19 Captain Furai (Bet Now: $4.20) could book a ticket to Brisbane for a race like the Gunsynd with a forward showing here. Unbeaten in two runs to start his career, winning with ease on debut at Newcastle before going to the Kenso where he got better as the race went on and was quite dominant in the run to the line. Heading in the right direction, versatility re racing style and beware the unbeaten horse.

Danger

5 Fearless Fighter (Bet Now: $16.00) should appreciate a rise to 1500m for Adrian McGregor. She ran down the Flemington straight a fortnight back when off the speed and chasing from a fair way out but she ran through the pain barrier and kept finding the line in a good effort behind handy mare Niance. Fitter and up in trip, bending track, she’s one of the hardest to beat.

Long Shot

7 Miss Hades (Bet Now: $27.00) should be suited back to 1500m for Gary Portelli. She ran over the mile at Newcastle last time where she struggled on the bog and couldn’t pick her feet up in the conditions, finishing down the track behind a class filly, Scarlet Oak. Back to 1500m and firmer footing, she appeals to bounce back.

Race 5. (13:20) Bisley Workwear (Bm72) 1100m

Back Me

10 Pisanello (Bet Now: $4.20) looks destined for better races and I think this will be another winning stepping stone. He resumed at Scone where he was one of the more impressive winners of the Carnival, giving them a start but an absolute belting in such an impressive return. He could easily win this and then head to Brisbane and find a Stakes race before being a horse to follow for the Spring. Like him a lot.

Danger

4 Queen Of The Mile (Bet Now: $19.00) is suited back to this level. Thrown in the deep end in the Denise’s Joy at Scone when near the speed and tried her guts out but just lacked the class of some of them late in the piece, the winner being a really nice horse in Commemorative. Back to this level, good racing style, she appeals for sure.

Long Shot

5 Rush Hour (Bet Now: $9.00) is an interesting runner. Nathan Doyle trains this three year old, who resumes. He returns to racing as a gelding, and his best is more than good enough to take this out off the back of strong trial work at Gosford and the form around him…gee it reads well. Huge market watch.

Race 6. (13:55) Toyota Forklifts (Bm78) 1200m

Back Me

10 Molly Nails (Bet Now: $9.50) gets the nod but not really a race I wan to get involved in. Matty Dale trained mare that resumes, having not raced since the night racing season at Canterbury in January where she looked a good thing and under a confident steer from J Mac, she was too good. Resumes without a public trial but I doubt she comes to Saturday grade fresh if she wasn’t ready.

Danger

16 Demiana (Bet Now: $7.00) is an improving mare for Chris Waller. Market kept her safe in betting when resuming at Rosehill a few weeks ago. She got into a decent spot just off the speed from the inside gate and tried hard but had no answers for the in form and hard fit Southern Chilli. Good improvement to come and is genuine. Hard to beat.

Long Shot

4 Southern Chilli (Bet Now: $9.50) has found winning form and she can certainly go on with it. Ciaron Maher trained mare that was knocking on the door to break the run of outs and it ended at Rosehill, settling just off the speed before Gibbons angled her clear and she let down with purpose to win and win well. She can continue winning despite the tricky draw.

Race 7. (14:30) Lord Mayors Cup (L) 2000m

Back Me

6 Sir Lucan (Bet Now: $6.00) is a few weeks between runs for GaiBott since contesting the Gosford Cup at Newcastle where he was enormous in defeat. He was wide no cover throughout before taking the front and kicked clear, but given the amount of work he did, he just couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by Hezashocka. Like him back to 2000m, firmer deck and has upside.

Danger

2 Sky Lab (Bet Now: $8.00) has always had the talent to be a good horse but he just hasn’t produced it on a consistent basis. But, it was a big return from him when taking out the Scone Cup, giving them a start and a beating and although he had the momentum/best ground, the win was impressive. Fitter and up in trip, he only runs well.

Long Shot

13 Foniska (Bet Now: $61.00) is an improving type for Chris Waller I feel. Thrown in the deep end a few weeks back at Rosehill when making her Australian debut and failed to make an impact in a fast run race behind Waterford. Might need more racing and time, but she does have good overseas form so I am not penning her.

Race 8. (15:05) Tab (Bm78) 1800m

Back Me

3 Unusual Legacy (Bet Now: $5.00) seems a really progressive type for Chris Waller and will eat up the more ground here, albeit only 100m. He ran two weeks ago at Scone where he got into a decent spot off the speed but was very one paced when initially asked by Hutchings but he got better as the race went on and was dominant late I thought. Good room for improvement, he appeals.

Danger

7 Perfect Play (Bet Now: $7.00) has been strong in a couple of runs down under for Annabel Neasham and is one of the hardest to beat. He ran at Scone in the race won by Unusual Legacy. He got back off the speed and was held up at times but kept finding the line in a really good effort behind the Waller galloper. Like him in trip and third up, should be hard fit.

Long Shot

2 Age Of Sail (Bet Now: $7.50) is a very promising son of Frankel for Kris Lees that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Feb 3 when a game second over 2000m here behind Kettle Hill in a driving go, just missing. Impressive first up winner last prep at his Aussie debut and his trials to get ready have been strong.

Race 9. (15:40) Precise Air (Bm78) 1500m

Back Me

5 Xidaki (Bet Now: $4.20) is a three year old I have time for and back to this level, he appeals. He ran in the Gold Coast Guineas at the Sunny Coast where he loomed as some sort of threat early on in the straight but the wheels began to spin on the wet ground and he couldn’t pick up. Up in trip I like, firmer deck and has a touch of quality.

Danger

1 Hollywood Hero (Bet Now: $6.00) is a beauty for Bjorn Baker and appeals as a key chance. He come through The Coast at Newcastle when outclassed on paper but he ran a super race in defeat when a closing fourth to Magnaspin, working home strongly against the track pattern. back to this level, he’s one of the leading chances.

Long Shot

9 Green Shadows (Bet Now: $13.00) is dangerous with his best. Superb first up winner at Warwick Farm before a couple of runs where he has been solid each time with excuses, the latest at Newcastle behind Scarlet Oak. Back to Rosehill, firmer deck, genuine tempo (hopefully), he can take this out.

Race 10. (16:20) Rosehill Bowling Club (Bm78) 1200m

What’s gambling really costing you?

Back Me

I do like 18 Heuristic (Bet Now: $20.00) as a horse and am going to be very forgiving of his last start, which came at Newcastle three weeks ago when wide no cover throughout and on testing ground, he just whacked to the line behind Sir Ravanelli but was far from disgraced in defeat. Think with a better run in transit and on a firmer deck, he’ll take beating.

Danger

3 Legio Ten (Bet Now: $7.00) has to be given another look. James Cummings trained gelding that ran at Scone a fortnight back where he was ridden as if it was a barrier trial, getting back to near last, nearer the inside, and although he made ground, he was never really a factor behind Dollar Magic. Fitter, more positive ride, he can win.

Long Shot

17 Disneck (Bet Now: $23.00) will spot them a start but he can launch late, as seen when winning here two back. He then went to Scone where he got back again but this time he couldn’t really get involved behind Dollar Magic. Back up to 1200m, he’ll spot them a start again but should launch at them late and can threaten.

BEST BET: Race Five Number 10 Pisanello

NEXT BEST: Race Three Number 13 Amarantz

LONG SHOT: Race One Number 11 Eye Pea Oh

Quaddie (Races Seven Through To Ten):
